Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory
Our lab has all the necessary equipment and technology to produce over 500 000 plans per year.
  Among the most used techniques you can find:
• Meristem propagation
• Embryo isolation
• Development of  new protocols to produce new PLANT  varieties. Our MAIN FIELDS (CROPS ???) for the moment being are: Orchids,  Bananas,  and  aroids such as Caladium, Spathyphillum, Anthurium,  Bromeliads.

ORCHID IN VITRO PROPAGATION

We are continously working to produce new hybrids.    We produce and collect inmature embryos from the capsule ( fruit)  of  the orchids, then isolate and grow THEM in  PROPER orchid micropropagation media.  Our range of orchids are: Cattleya, Dendrobium, Oncidium,  Phalaenopsis, and other Costa Rican varieties.

BIOPESTICIDES

This is a new Project  to develop biopesticides applying benefitial fungus such as:

• Trichoderma sp.
• Beauveria sp.
• Metharizium sp.

At the state of the art,  this Project is in its research stage. We hope to have products for gardening application during 2008.
